Cross Country Runaway Success!

Chulmleigh runners perform well

On Saturday 16th January, Chulmleigh students gave up their free time to represent the College.  All ran really well and did the school proud.

Anna Downs had a brilliant run and came 3rd – against those a year older; Euan Kernahan also had a storming run and came 5th so they have both qualified for the South West Schools event.  Ruby Cutler was very nervous but ran really well and had an excellent finish in the teens whilst Erin Fraser-Smith came 26th.  Laura Fraser-Smith came 20th and Ella Fraser-Smith 21st – arguably Ella shouldn’t have run as she has not run since the first weekend of December so was unfit as well as nursing an injured knee!

Ella qualified to run for Devon in the National Intercounties event as a result of coming 2nd in the Devon County Champs in December so she will be off to Birmingham for that in March if we can get her back running. She is still seeing a physio and working on the knee, but she also has to try running if she is to have any hope of getting through that competition.

Well done all and good luck to those who have qualified for further events.
