Year 8 & 9 students experience life with French families
Seventeen students spent 5 days in Bergerac during May half term. The purpose of the visit was to put their French into practice in real life situations and experience French family life. Their French pen pals came over here at the beginning of May and had a fantastic time thanks to all the families who took part (Merci à tout le monde !)
On arrival in Bergerac, students had a flavour of the French schooling system and enjoyed a boat ride on the river Dordogne. Day 2 included a visit to an attraction Park and canoeing in the afternoon- some got VERY wet!
The next two days were spent with the families who took the students to castles, town and some had a swimming pool party. On the Friday we climbed La dune du Pyla, the highest sand dune in Europe, with impressive views as seen in the photo, followed by a visit to the beach in Arcachon.
On the final day, the students spent the last of their euros in the market and shops before returning to their families.
This was our 2nd Exchange and, being very successful again I hope that our 2014/15 Year 9 students will take advantage of this opportunity.
