Castle brings history to life
Y7 visit Dunster Castle
On the 10th of October, Year 7 students went on a terrific trip to Dunster Castle in Somerset. They took part in a series of activities including: dressing up in old style clothes, taking a tour of the old castle, learning about nursery rhymes, warfare at Dunster, seeing the garden at the grounds, looking at the horse stables and cellar and also visiting the gift shop and the castle enactments were soldiers fought in the siege.
Mr Ashby (Head of Technology) accompanied the students and said it was very interesting and educational.
Alice Cross and Amber Jarratt, 7B, said that they thoroughly enjoyed the castles fine design and that next time they would like to see more of the dungeons and older rooms in the castle.
The trip was enjoyed by all year 7's who hope to have many more like it throughout the whole of their first year at Chulmleigh!
