Prestigious award for Geography Department
Secondary Geography Quality Mark recognises excellence in teaching and learning
We are delighted to have had the hard work of our Geography department recognised with the receipt of The Secondary Quality Mark award. The award recognises the impact of high quality and innovative teaching within geography.
As one of only two schools in Devon to receive the award for 2014, Head of Geography Gareth Godwin said “the award acknowledged the hard work that we have consistently put in to high standards of learning both in the classroom and outdoors. Additionally our links to international partner schools and local fieldwork opportunities have stimulated an interest and understanding in geography from the students.”
Chulmleigh Geography teacher Peter Covington worked hard to compile the report for the Geographical Association and was delighted with the outcome of his effort saying “it is great to see the department get the external appreciation we deserve for our teaching”.
