Boscastle - putting the learning in to perspective
Y11 geographers visit Boscastle
On Friday 11th September, the Y11 GCSE Geography group visited Boscastle to support their Controlled Assessment.
The group were investigating the River Valency using the Bradshaw model which is widely used to compare changes in 'upstream' and 'downstream' in typical rivers. They were also able to go to the Visitor Centre to learn more about the devastating floods.
A highlight of the visit was a trip to the local pasty shop to pick up a pre-order of delicious Cornish pasties!
All students agreed that visiting Boscastle had been a great help in putting the learning in the classroom in to perspective.
