Reading Week - November 2014
This week we would like to thank all the members of the community who have come in every morning to read with the children: Nick Griffiths, Margaret Bolt, Brian and Doreen Fraser-Smith, Tansy and Tony Parsons, Sylvia Short, Pauline Newbound, Hazel Pearce and their organiser Judy Cowx.
Reading is such an important skill to master, and practice is the best way to improve in both fluency and comprehension. Different adults listening to the pupils read is a tremendous help to the children and gives them a terrific confidence boost. It not only opens up many new worlds in terms of knowledge and understanding, but also helps them improve their writing skills and we are very proud of the high levels in both reading and writing that the children in this school achieve.
