  • Small Group Open Events October 2021

Due to Devon being in a Covid Enhanced Response Area until 4th October, we have taken the difficult decision to change the way we conduct our open events by replacing the College Open Evening on Tuesday 21st September with a wide range of smaller and more personal events. We are very keen to meet prospective parents/carers and pupils and are delighted to be able to offer a ‘package’ of Covid-safe opportunities to help inform your choice of secondary school for September 2022.
Small group tours – wide range of dates available
We are offering small group tours with our Executive Headteacher Michael Johnson, Deputy Executive Headteacher Neil Payne and SENDCO Laura Mackie. After school for those who may not be able to visit in working hours and morning tours for those who wish to visit during a normal school day.  Being able to see the school ‘in action’ provides an excellent window into what we offer here at Chulmleigh College, and with the tours being led by our Senior Leadership Team in a small group environment, you will have ample opportunities to ask any questions you may have.
We are offering a wide range of dates for these tours, please click on the links below to book.
    After school tours: Morning tours:
Year 6 Taster Morning Saturday 16th October 9am-12pm We are delighted to be able to offer prospective pupils the chance to attend a Taster Morning at the College, where they will experience a range of lessons and activities.

Lapford Partnership Foundation Stage Unit

'Today was good.
Today was fun.
Tomorrow is another one.’
Dr Seuss

At Lapford Partnership Foundation Stage Unit, children of preschool age (Fledglings) and children of school reception age (Robins) learn and play together sharing our well-resourced indoor and outdoor areas. The caring and experienced team nurture a strength of character in all our pupils and provide a range of opportunities, which enable all children to enjoy learning and achieve their potential; preparing them for Year 1 and onwards.

We offer a stimulating and relevant curriculum following the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). We make children’s learning exciting, fun, meaningful and challenging. We insist on high standards, which we are then proud to share.

Our work starts with an exciting experience or challenge to capture the children’s interest and generate enthusiasm. We respond to children’s interests to ensure learning is engaging and relevant to them, and they develop the skills needed to become independent learners.  A high quality outcome brings together the children’s learning in a meaningful way, and is shared with parents and the community. We want the learning experience for all of our pupils to be memorable so that they are ready for the next step in their journey.

Our partnership between home and school is very important to us, and it is our aim to work closely with parents and carers to ensure the best outcome for all of the children in the Lapford Community Foundation Stage Unit.
