  • Small Group Open Events October 2021

Due to Devon being in a Covid Enhanced Response Area until 4th October, we have taken the difficult decision to change the way we conduct our open events by replacing the College Open Evening on Tuesday 21st September with a wide range of smaller and more personal events. We are very keen to meet prospective parents/carers and pupils and are delighted to be able to offer a ‘package’ of Covid-safe opportunities to help inform your choice of secondary school for September 2022.
Small group tours – wide range of dates available
We are offering small group tours with our Executive Headteacher Michael Johnson, Deputy Executive Headteacher Neil Payne and SENDCO Laura Mackie. After school for those who may not be able to visit in working hours and morning tours for those who wish to visit during a normal school day.  Being able to see the school ‘in action’ provides an excellent window into what we offer here at Chulmleigh College, and with the tours being led by our Senior Leadership Team in a small group environment, you will have ample opportunities to ask any questions you may have.
We are offering a wide range of dates for these tours, please click on the links below to book.
    After school tours: Morning tours:
Year 6 Taster Morning Saturday 16th October 9am-12pm We are delighted to be able to offer prospective pupils the chance to attend a Taster Morning at the College, where they will experience a range of lessons and activities.

Transition to Chulmleigh College

Children joining Chulmleigh College all have the opportunity to build relationships with key staff and learn about the next stages of their education, prior to joining in Year 7.  We are very much looking forward to getting to know the young people joining us, and learning all about what they will bring to life at the College.
We know that this year is very different to the way we have delivered our transition previously, but we are working hard to prepare all of our young people for their start to secondary school life.Primary children and their parents will receive information on all key areas of the College and how they can prepare for joining us.  Over the coming weeks we will be introducing you to your Tutor and Head of House, as well as answering any questions you may have.  This is an opportunity to start to build a relationship with the College, and find out that valuable information, including 'Who's Who'.
It is our priority to help with this change, therefore we welcome any feedback and support from parents and carers on making this process easier for their children. If you have any queries, please email the team on
