Welcome

East Worlington Primary School, for children aged 2-11 years, is situated in the village of East Worlington, which is between Chulmleigh and Crediton and close to Witheridge.  It is part of the Chulmleigh Academy Trust, a group of three primary schools (East Worlington, Lapford and Chulmleigh) and Chulmleigh College.

We are delighted to announce the opening of a dedicated 9-month- 2-years extension to our current thriving Nursery.

By being part of Chulmleigh Academy Trust, children at East Worlington Primary School benefit from enhanced transitional events and preferential admission to the College.

Early Worlies Update This week our Babies and Preschool children have been busy exploring, discovering and enjoying the outdoors! Preschool Our Preschool children have been learning all about patterns. They explored repeating colours, shapes and objects, and had a go at creating their own patterns using different resources around the room. It has been wonderful to see them concentrating and noticing patterns in their environment. We also enjoyed a relaxing and fun yoga session. The children practised their balance, stretching and listening skills, trying out different poses and movements with great enthusiasm. Out in the garden, we have started preparing our planting area by digging the soil ready for future planting. The children were fascinated to find lots of worms! This led to some lovely discussions about how worms help our soil and why they are important for growing plants. We have also been learning about the weather. The children created weather bottles to represent different types of weather, which supported conversations about what we can see outside and how the weather changes from day to day. Of course, we also enjoyed plenty of time playing and exploring in the garden. Babies Our Babies have been settling back in beautifully and are becoming more confident in their surroundings. We have been re-establishing our daily routines, which helps the children feel secure and comfortable throughout the day. It has been lovely to see new friendships forming as the children play alongside each other and begin to interact more. They have enjoyed both indoor and outdoor play, exploring different resources and environments. We have also been going on short walks around the school, giving the children opportunities to explore new spaces and observe what is happening around them. As part of our learning, the Babies have been exploring the theme of rain. They used shakers to create rain sounds and enjoyed sensory water play, pouring, filling and splashing. This supports their early fine motor skills and sensory development. We are also very proud of the children who are learning to walk. It has been wonderful to see their confidence grow as they practise their balance and develop their independence each day. It has been another fantastic week full of learning, exploration and growing confidence!
